Thoughts about where I'm headed with what I paint

I've only been able to paint full time since 2014, that's late in my life; time's a'waistin'!  I've always, always painted in my head since my late teens, but life was generally pretty hard for me and I mostly had to just deal with keeping my head above water. I moved to New Orleans because of my love of music and New Orleans (as so many do), so that is what I primarily paint and will continue down that path. But there is so much more I want to tell and I find that evolving in my imagination, not sure where it's going or exactly how I connect it all, as my Southern Gothic Horror of a childhood stays with me and also my love of the people and the culture of Louisiana, beyond New Orleans grows. It's about finding a connecting thread in all of my work and I think about that a lot now.
